What a happy surprise this book is,- instructions are clear and often given in a down to earth manner. The recipes range from what you might have in the pantry to some outstandingly good food. The enchilada sauce is the best I have ever had - it's a bit complicated yet can be made before hand and then poured over tortillas filled with cheese, and there you have a wonderful Tex-Mex fix. I don't know about others but I get mean without my fix about once a week.
Buy and read this delightful book not only for the recipes but also for inspiration to create your own book of memories and recipes. Every family could use such a book.
Don't worry about the investment of your resources in creating such a gem. You will get it back by heading off all those phone calls from your chickadees when they get out on their own.

I loved this "cook's book" with its many wonderful recipes and homey anecdotes. The Ledford Kitchen seems a great place to be. The recipes I've tried so far have been easy to follow and delicious! I'm waiting for Volume 2!
